I’ve been a writer and editor specialising in health, science and social issues for 30 years. Alongside my journalism, I've always worked with various professional, statutory and voluntary organisations on communications issues – presenting information in attractive, accessible ways for the public and professionals.

My features and analysis have appeared regularly in The Times since 1999 and I've edited health sections for The Times and the Daily Telegraph. I contribute to magazines including Cancer World and BBC Science Focus. And I work with organisations as diverse as Macmillan Cancer Support, London Gypsies and Travellers and the Deep Sea Conservation Coalition.

My journalism and work on patient information booklets have won me several awards.
