Professional publications

Throughout my career, I've written for a range of publications for health professionals, social workers and people who work for voluntary organisations. I've always thought it important to stay in touch with both sides of the care equation – the public angle on health issues, and the professional one.

I started my career writing for physiotherapists and other professions supplementary to medicine in the UK, and I'm still writing for physiotherapists – all around the world – through the online pages of WCPT News. I wrote regularly for the Health Service Journal and Nursing Times during the 80s and 90s. Then, during the 1990s and early 2000s, I wrote for social workers through the pages of Professional Social Work, and then continued writing for that readership through Compass, the social work and social care careers guide.

I've also written publications specifically for health professionals – for example, a booklet on occupational therapy interventions in cancer, and reports for the National Council for Palliative Care aimed a palliative care professionals.
